Dr. Michael Jerome Lord, age 54, fell asleep in death August 27, 2015. He was at home with his family in Tampa, FL after a 6 year battle with brain cancer.
He graduated from Columbia High School in Lake City, FL as Valedictorian of the class of 1979 and graduated from South Florida Medical School in Spinal Orthopedic Surgery.
Mike was married 28 years to his devoted, loving and caring wife, Dr. Jane Cox Lord. He loved and cared for his family, friends and patients. He was a very dedicated man to proper nutrition and physical fitness.
As one of Jehova’s Witnesses the last years of his life were spent enjoying his family and helping others to draw close to God.
Mike and Jane were blessed with 4 children: 2 daughters; Janelle (Helmet) Hampton, Tampa, FL and Michelle (Spencer) Schafer of Washington; 2 sons; Forrest and Justin Lord both of Tampa, FL. Mother, Brenda (Puddy) Espenship of Lake City, FL, father, Pete (Meredith) Lord of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Kelly Henderson of Ft. Myers and numerous other relatives.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 4:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 15208 Barby Ave, Tampa, FL 33625.
