Forrest William Flaniken, Jr. ’76

Forrest William Flaniken, Jr. ’76, 57, of Orlando, Fla., went to be with the Lord on Oct. 14, 2012. Flaniken was a committed man of God, a loving husband, a devoted father, a loyal brother, a caring son, and a faithful friend. Flaniken was a senior vice president of Wycliffe Bible Translators. He passionately followed Jesus Christ and wanted all people from around the world to have access to the Bible in their heart language, so that they might know Christ and worship him. Flaniken was an avid and disciplined athlete and an accomplished piano player. Flaniken had degrees from Davidson, Vanderbilt University, and the University of Central Florida. He leaves to rejoin him in the presence of God at a later date his beautiful wife, Kristen Flaniken, 13928 Bluewater Cir., Orlando, FL 32828-8322; his sons, Forrest III “Chipper,” Nelson, and Spencer; his siblings, Eleanor, Jim ’87 (Laure Van Dierdonck Flaniken ’87), and Jeff; his parents, Forrest Sr. and Joanne; his daughter-in-law, Kristen; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
