David Bailey Crosland, Jr., M.D. passed away August 10, 2023 at TerraBella Harrisburg.
The family held a private service earlier this week presided over by Reverend Roger Bostic.
Dave was born February 11, 1930 in Concord to the late David B. Crosland, Sr. and Lillian Morris Crosland Southerland. He was also preceded in death by wife of 62 years, Anne Penn Crosland and daughter, Miriam C. Fullam.
Dave grew up in Concord, went to undergraduate school at Davidson College, and then attended medical school at UNC Chapel Hill. There he met his beloved wife to be Anne Penn from Danville, Virginia. They married and settled back in his hometown of Concord, where he joined the practice of Cabarrus Clinic for Women. Here they raised their four children. Dr. Crosland was a loving father and grandfather, and his family was always close to him. He touched the lives of those he served as an OB/GYN doctor, as well as his many friends in the community of Concord, Mount Pleasant and surrounding areas. He will be greatly missed.
Dave is survived by son, David B. Crosland III of Salisbury; daughters, Lila C. Schadler of Concord, and Anne Garrett C. Diaz and husband, Dennis of Mint Hill; grandchildren, David Drake Jr, (Kristie), Ben Drake (Shae Walden), Josh and Seth Diaz, Adrianna McCarty (Austin), Timothy Fullam, Matthew Schadler (Chasidy), Mary Morris Ferguson (Bob), Bailey Anne Schadler, and Clare and Bailey Crosland; eleven great grandchildren; sister, Lou C. Overcash of Waxhaw, NC; sister-in-law Flo Starnes, and niece, Anne Mitchell of Concord; nephew, Doug (Alison) Starnes; brother in law, George (Dixie) Penn; nieces, Vaughan, Elaine, Elizabeth and Georgeanna Penn.
