Charles Alexander Schenck '61Charles Alexander Schenck “Charlie” as he was known to family and friends, passed away October 20, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family and his sweet dog Missy after an extended illness.

Charlie the son of Lewis & Betty Schenck was a native of Davidson, NC and graduate of Davidson College. After serving as a sergeant in the Marine Corps, Charlie worked for Duke Power company until his retirement.

He was a past member of Mulder United Methodist Church in Wetumpka, AL, and his faith and church life were most important to him. He greatly enjoyed watching The Church of the Highlands from his computer each Sunday when he was no longer able to attend.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Jane Howard Schenck and his children Charles Graham Schenck (spouse Tonya) and Susan Schenck Bradshaw (spouse Timothy). His sister Betsy Schenck Kylstra (spouse Chester) his half-sister Judy Gantt. Six grandchildren Kelsey Propst, Jacyln Dillard, Trevor Dillard, Logan Bradshaw, Joshua Bradshaw, Emma Bradshaw. Great-grandson Trevor Dillard Jr.

A time of visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 27th, in the parlor of Davidson College Presbyterian Church, Davidson, North Carolina. A memorial service will immediately follow in the Chapel of Davidson College Presbyterian Church, Davidson, North Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Samaritans’ Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
