Julia Bogie Santen, born on November 23, 1978, in Lexington, KY, to Elizabeth Steger Santen and the late John David Santen, passed away unexpectedly on June 15, 2018, in Charleston, SC, at age 39. She owned Julia Santen Gallery, a successful vintage poster business in downtown Charleston.
Julia enjoyed fine cuisine, funny movies, travel and outdoor activities, and taught sailing at ActionQuest Global Expeditions after college.
She graduated from Davidson College (2001), Henry Clay High School (1997), and The Lexington School (1994). She was a member of the Junior League of Charleston and First Presbyterian Church of Lexington.
Julia is survived by her mother, Liz; her brothers, John David Santen, Jr. and William Chenault Santen; her niece, Scout Santen; and her nephews, Manny, Dashiell and Harper Santen.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Julia’s memory to The Lexington School.
A celebration of Julia Santen’s wonderful life will be held at a later date.
