William Bostick Baxter ’49

William Bostick Baxter, 88, of Holland, passed away on July 11, 2016. He was born in Dothan, Ala., in 1928 and attended Davidson College in North Carolina.

He worked for J.M. Huber Corporation as an accountant after serving in the military. After moving to Holland in 2008 he became a member of Third Reformed Church. He was a committed Christian and dedicated to memorizing scripture.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William P. Baxter and Francis G. Howell; and his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth Fortson Baxter.

He is survived by his two daughters, Katherine (George) Hunsberger of Holland and Anne (Jim) Mead of Orange City, Iowa; five grandchildren, Lauren (Dan) Eisnor of Grand Haven, Peter (Emily) Hunsberger of Grand Rapids, Anna (Mark) Bogertman of Holland, Andrew (Jana) Mead of Grand Rapids, Molly (Paul) Towne of Zeeland; and eight great grandchildren, Kate Eisnor, Luke Eisnor, Levi Eisnor, Gracie Bogertman, Amelia Bogertman, Joel Bogertman, Asher Mead, and Simon Hunsberger. He is also survived by his step-brother, Crawford (Gladys) Howell of Dothan, AL.

Following a family committal service at the cemetery, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, at Third Reformed Church in Holland. Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Holland, or to Third Reformed Church of Holland.
