John Jacob Horschel (Jack) has resided in the Eau Gallie area of Melbourne since the late 40’s. Born in Ironton, Ohio on March 14, 1924. He died on March 5, 2016, 9 days before celebrating his 92nd birthday. He was a founding member of Ascension Catholic Church and an avid member of the Brevard County Airboat Association. He had a love for the marsh and taught not only his sons but grandsons how to navigate the canals throughout the St. John’s River.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Kathryn (Kay) Kuhr. He is survived by their 8 children Johnny (Robin), Ernestine Ellington (Robert), Hallie Laneuville (Hank), Joey (Becky), Billy (Kathy), Paul (Tamara), Priscilla Allen (Tom) and Mary Pat Green (Thom). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 32 greatgrandchildren, his present wife of 15 years Ann Stratton Horschel and her children Chris, Elaina and her granddaughter Nahtalia.
