Kathryn Ruth Murray Sarzen of Brookhaven died Friday, November 21, 2014. She was 53. The daughter of John and Bonnie Murray of Jasper, GA, she was the wife of Dr. Christopher Sarzen and the mother of twin sons, Michael and Christopher, and daughter, Natalie.
She was a supremely devoted mother and wife and loved by all. Born in Atlanta in 1961, Kathryn was graduated from The Westminster Schools in 1979, Davidson College in 1983, and the Mercer University Law School, Macon, in 1986. At Mercer she served on Law Review and Moot Court Board. Her legal career spanned 28 years in both the private and public sectors.
She was a member of the Junior League of Atlanta, Inc. In addition to her husband, children and parents, Kathryn is survived by brother, Philip Murray (Melinda) of Hinsdale, IL; sister, Diane Murray Sweat (Charles) of LaGrange; father-in-law, Karl Sarzen, of Dunwoody; brother-in law, Marcel Sarzen (Mary); five nephews and two nieces.
There will be a visitation Tuesday, November 25, from 6-8 p.m. at H. M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road, N.E., Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
Funeral service will be held at St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church, 3110 Ashford-Dunwoody Road on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., followed by burial at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mt. Vernon Hwy, NW, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church or to Fellowship Presbyterian Church, 389 Bent Tree Drive, Jasper, GA 30143.
