Willis Fleming Briley, Jr. ’55

Willis Fleming Briley, Jr. ’55 died on September 18, 2013 in Wilson, NC. He was the son of Willis F. Briley, Sr. and Belva Adkins Briley. He attended Wilson public schools, graduated from Charles L. Coon High School, and in 1955 achieved his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Davidson College. From 1956 to 1957 Willis served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army in Korea, where he was assigned to intelligence missions. His lifelong passion for theater and film influenced his career as a writer, producer and director at Thomas Craven Film Corporation in New York City. He traveled widely, relishing the vistas and culture of Japan in particular. Following his retirement, Willis returned from New York to his ancestral home on Nash Street North in Wilson. His wit, creativity and intelligence are celebrated by all who knew him.
