John “Jack” W. Leaycraft, Jr. ’52

John “Jack” W. Leaycraft, Jr. ’52, 82, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., died peacefully at home on Sept. 20, 2012, following a lengthy illness. Leaycraft was born on Feb. 9, 1930, in Nyack, N.Y. He was the son of the late John Wilson and Gertrude Anderson Leaycraft and the widower of Jane Vallentyne Leaycraft. Leaycraft was a salesman for the Continental Can Company in New York City, president of the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company in Rochester, N.Y., and sales executive at Silgan Plastics Corp in Atlanta, Ga. He regularly attended services at Gulf Breeze Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Berry Leaycraft, 4147 Oak Pointe Dr., Harold, FL 32563-8513; daughter, Laura L. Bush (William); son, David A. Leaycraft (Suzanne P.); daughter, Susan L Shirley (Thomas); sister, Mary L. Turner (John); six stepchildren, David, Thomas, Douglas, Jeffrey, Barbara, and Susan; 25 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
