William L. Faucette ’50

William L. Faucette ’50 of Charlotte passed away June 13, 2005. He was a World War II Army veteran. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp in 1943 and served as a radio operator on a B-29 Heavy Bombardment Squadron 14 Middle Pacific Command as a staff sergeant. After the war he served in the Army Reserves as a 2nd Lieutenant until 1953. At Davidson, he was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was a lifetime member of Avondale Presbyterian Church. He retired as a retail sales manager. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-four years, Jean Belle Buckles Faucette. He is survived by his three sons, William L. Faucette, Jr., of Raleigh, David E. Faucette and wife, Toni, of Somerville, N.J., and Michael A. Faucette and wife, Teresa, of Charlotte; two brothers, John Ed Faucette of Phoenix, Az., and Jack Faucette of Roper, N.C.; two sisters, Ann Niblock of Adamstown, Md., and Virginia Qualls of Lexington, Ky.; four grandchildren, Judith Faucette of Raleigh, N.C., and Brian, Carrie, and Phillip Boyles, all of Charlotte, N.C.; two great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Sorenson and Landon Boyles, both of Charlotte; and many nieces and nephews.
