Thomas Allen Little, Jr. ’49 of Chapel Hill, N.C. died June 10, 2005. He attended Davidson College and then went on to graduate with a B.A. from UNC Chapel Hill in 1950. He received a B.D. from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Va. He did graduate work at St. Mary’s College at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland. He earned an STM at Lutheran Seminary, Gettysburg, Pa., and was involved with graduate studies in English at the UNC Chapel Hill. He served pastorates in Sykesville and Baltimore, Md., Charlotte, and Southport, N.C. Surviving are his wife Shirley, 104 Cedar St., Chapel Hill, N.C. 27517; son, Thomas A. Little III of Chapel Hill; daughter Nancy Alexander Day of Carrboro; sister, Martha Hunter of Sea Island, Ga.

Herbert A. Dalton ’49
Herbert A. Dalton ’49 of Sacramento, Calif., died March 16, 2005. He was a longtime resident of Sacramento. He served in World War II as a B-17 pilot in the Army Air Forces. He graduated summa cum laude from Davidson College in 1949. He retired from S.M.U.D. as a land department supervisor after thirty years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents Howard Dalton and Annie Myrtle Dalton; brother Howard Dalton Jr.; sisters Mary Cosgrove, Mildred Dalton Watkins, and wife Mary-Claire of fifty years. He is survived by daughters Catherine (Gary) Brown, Marcie (Mark) Dalton Roberts, 5180 Remuda Ct., Shingle Springs, Calif. 95682, and Karen Dalton. He is also survived by four sisters and a brother; Gwen Darvin, Consuelo Smith, Bonnie Owen, Gladys Hice and Edward Dalton, as well as three grandchildren, Jennifer Brown, Daniel and Laura Roberts.
