Jim was born to Horace and Nelle (Laughlin) Waldron in Savannah, GA on September 28, 1942. The family moved to Decatur, GA and Jim played football and graduated from Avondale High School in 1959. He graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry from Davidson College in Charlotte, NC in 1964. He and Anne owned several boats throughout their many years together; their son, JC was born while they were living in Annapolis, MD harbor on their 72-foot retired racing yacht, “Kialoa II”. They participated in many amateur sailboat races on the Chesapeake Bay and offshore.
Jim was also passionate about woodworking and had a well-equipped garage workshop, where he taught himself to build hand tools. He and Anne built an 11-foot nesting dinghy in their garage.
Jim was beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was passionate about his granddaughter, Audrey; they spent many happy times together reading and playing on the computer.
