Albert Grady Harris '48

Albert Grady Harris, Jr., Class of 1948, was born on January 14th, 1925, and passed away on December 2nd, 2020.

He was a cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Davidson and a member of Kappa Alpha and Sigma Upsilon, afterwards graduating from Columbia Theological Seminary and receiving a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, VA.

He served as a Presbyterian pastor in Decatur, GA, Morehead City, NC, Atlanta, GA, Laurel, MD, Marietta, GA, and Big Canoe, GA and also served four years as a missionary in Brazil.

Survivors include his wife of seventy years, Geraldine “Gerrie” Dixon Harris, four children, Diana Thomas, Atlanta, GA, Celestia Lake, Gulf Breeze, FL, Grady Harris, Atlanta, GA, and Annie Burke, Thomasville, GA, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, as well as his sisters, Francis Kennedy, Black Mountain, NC, and Eugenia Varker, Greensboro, NC.
