William Hampton “Bill” Balentine III passed away peacefully on October 12, 2018 in Peachtree Corners, GA. Bill was born February 17, 1935 to William Hampton Balentine Jr. and Ruth Walker Balentine. Growing up in Greenville, SC, Bill graduated from Davidson College in Davidson, NC, and became a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army. Bill married Beverly Lee Higginbotham in 1957 and they just celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary!
Bill worked for the Buick Motor Division of General Motors for 34 years. Bill and Beverly lived most of their lives in Charlotte, NC, where they attended Myers Park United Methodist Church. When he wasn’t playing golf, Bill volunteered at Habitat for Humanity, Loaves & Fishes, and the First Tee.
Mr. Balentine is survived by his wife Beverly, daughter Laura Balentine Jeu de Vine, son-in-law Charles William Jeu de Vine IV, and granddaughter Mary Hampton Jeu de Vine.
