Walter Jackson (Jack) Sims, Jr. ’56

Walter (Jack) Jackson Sims, Jr, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 13, 2018, after a courageous battle with a long-term respiratory illness.

A native Atlantan, he was born January 26, 1934, to Walter Jackson Sims, Sr. and Martha Frances Dodd. Jack attended Roosevelt Highschool and Davidson College in North Carolina. He had a long and successful career with GoldKist Corp. as a division account manager.

Jack was a devoted friend to many and he, without question, was always there to help. He was “one of the good guys” and a man of substance.

Jack is survived by a cousin, MaryAnn Moore of Lake Wells, Fla. and many dear and special friends whom he regarded as family.

Thank you to the dedicated staff at Brighton Gardens of Buckhead and Kindred Hospice. His family and friends are deeply grateful for the care they provided him.
