Scott B. Anthony ’69

Scott B. Anthony, MD, 68, passed away on Oct. 1st after a long illness. Scott was born in Logan, Utah on March 11, 1947. He grew up in Oxford, Ohio with his parents and sister.

He attended Davidson College in Davidson, N.C. and medical school at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. Scott was a physician in Richmond, Va. for several years before moving to Evanston, Wyo. where he started a private practice as an Orthopedic Surgeon until retiring in 2005.

Scott and his wife, Anne, owned and operated Willow Crest Hospital, Inc./Moccasin Bend Ranch in Miami, Okla. from 1997 to present.

Over the last several years, they lived in Evanston, Wyo.; Miami, Okla. and Nags Head, N.C. Scott was an avid golfer and spent many hours playing at Duck Woods Country Club in Southern Shores, N.C.; Peoria Ridge Golf Club in Miami, Okla. and Purple Sage Country Club in Evanston, Wyo.

Scott was very active in each of his communities and was frequently seen walking his dogs and stopping to chat with neighbors. His lively spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Scott is survived by his wife, Anne Anthony; daughter, Ann Robin Anthony; stepson, Steve Goodman; stepdaughter, Holly Jessup; sister, Gail Freno; and four grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life is being planned in Southern Shores, N.C. and Miami, Okla.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a Youth Golf Scholarship Fund at Duck Woods Country Club in Southern Shores, N.C.
