Joseph Henry DeShazo, 81, of Martinsville, Va., passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015. He was the son of William Buford DeShazo and Grace S. DeShazo. Joseph attended Davidson College.
He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, stationed in New Mexico. Joseph enjoyed traveling, boating, playing bridge and dining out. He was a fine pianist. Joseph was a sales manager for Aluminum Construction Company in Cranford, N.J.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty; son, Joseph (Julie); daughters, Deborah and Nancy; stepchildren, James (Tammy), Barry, Denise (Conrad), Theresa and Carole (David); and 14 grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Church of the Good Shepherd in Punta Gorda, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Church of the Good Shepherd, 401 W. Henry St., Punta Gorda, FL 33950; or Peace River Wildlife Center, 3400 Ponce de Leon Parkway, Punta Gorda, FL 33950.
