Philip Burch McGill, 83, of Chapel Hill, NC., died in his sleep on March 3, 2015. Born and raised in Davidson, NC., Philip graduated from Davidson High School prior to entering the Navy, where he served during the Korean Conflict.
Following his honorable discharge, he returned home to Davidson.He graduated from Davidson College, which he always held dear in his heart. He worked in the field of real estate management, and retired from Herb Holland, Co.
Philip is survived by his wife, Haley Poteat McGill, of Chapel Hill, NC., and his sister, Mary (Mrs. Bill) McCord and her family, of Virgina Beach, NC. He was predeceased by his other sister, Louise Parker, of Southport, NCHis kind and generous spirit will also be missed by his nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends.
A memorial service will be held at Forest Home, in Yanceyville, at 3pm on April 11, 2015. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Davidson College.
