Angus Graham Andrews ’53

Mr. Angus Graham Andrews, age 83 a lifelong resident of DeFuniak Springs passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014 in Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, He was born March 19, 1931 in DeFuniak Springs the son of Edward Leo Andrews and Merry Love Campbell Andrews. After graduating from Walton High School with the Class of 1949 he went on to graduate from Davidson College and the University of Florida Law School. He served his country as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army right at the conclusion of the Korean Conflict. Angus practiced law for forty eight years with the Law Firm of Campbell, Andrews and Andrews and Davis where he was a partner, retiring in 2007.

He achieved a rating of “A” for thirty years in the prestigious Martindale-Hubbell rating systems. He was a member of DeFuniak Springs Kiwanis Club, member of the Walton County Chamber of Commerce, where he served several years on the Board of Directors and served three times as President of DeFuniak Springs Business and Professional Association. Angus was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church of DeFuniak Springs where he served as an elder, clerk of session, and was an active member of the Presbyterian Men’s Fellowship. He is predeceased by his parents, his brothers, Edward Leo Andrews, Jr. and Douglas MacKinnon Andrews and his great granddaughter, Lydia Rose Shehee.

Among survivors are his wife, Deborah Andrews. His children, Angela Shehee and husband Ed; Angus G. “Gus” Andrews, Jr. and wife Donna; Becky Andrews Garea; Ralph Spires Andrews and wife Myra and his stepdaughter Jennifer Nowling and husband Jason. The Mother of his children, Joyce Andrews. His grandchildren, Joyelle Callahan (Chad), Ges Shehee, Will Shehee (Etta), Mac Shehee, Angus Graham Andrews, III, Luke Andrews, Laura Andrews, Mary Jo Mosley (Jeremaih), Amanda Reeves, Erin Andrews, Bridget Andrews, Leo Andrews and Channing Andrews. His sisters-in-law Betsy Thomas, Ruby Southard and husband Benton and special aunt, Frances Jones. Six nieces also survive.

Floral arrangements are being accepted or memorials may be made in Angus Graham Andrews memory to First Presbyterian Church, 1063 Circle Drive, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. The family will receive friends Monday, April 21, 2014 in First Presbyterian Church from 10 until 11 A.M. with the service beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Reverends Michael Moore and Durl Odom officiating.
