Sharon Lee Bridwell ’82

Sharon Bridwell, 53, of Las Vegas, Nevada died at Creekside Hospice on January 2, 2014 following a long battle with a terminal illness. Sharon was born to Gerald A. Bridwell and the late Genieve (Stoppelmoor) Bridwell on February 23, 1960 in Valparaiso, Indiana. She graduated from Clarkston High School, Stone Mountain, Georgia in 1978 and was a member of the National Honor Society and the National Beta Club.

In 1978 she enrolled in Davidson College in North Carolina. Sharon received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Davidson in 1982. Sharon held marketing positions with several North Carolina companies including Wrangler Jeans (VF Corporation), Multi-­‐Ad Services and Vanguard Cellular Systems before relocating to Basel, Switzerland.

While in Switzerland Sharon was retained as a consulting manager by Novartis to launch a global image development plan. Sharon and her husband Gene returned to the United States in 1999 and selected Las Vegas as their home.

Sharon Bridwell is survived by her husband, Gene Leed of Las Vegas, Nevada; Gene’s daughter Denienne and granddaughter Talia of Las Vegas, Nevada; Gene’s daughter Miranda, husband Jay Boutelle, grandson Monty and granddaughter Mila of Portland, Oregon; Sharon’s father Gerald A. Bridwell of Rochester, Minnesota, and his wife Jill; Sharon’s sister Brenda and her niece Taylor of Sarasota, Florida; Sharon’s sister Jeri and her husband Jack Forseen of El Paso, Texas; Sharon’s brother Brad of Atlanta, Georgia; and Sharon’s brother Andy, his wife Danika, her niece Alexandra and her nephew Anderson of Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

Memorial services will be scheduled in Nevada and North Carolina in the spring of 2014 to commemorate Sharon’s life.
