C. Venoy “Van” Boliek ’50

C.V. “Van” Boliek of Charlotte, NC died on Saturday, December 21, 2013 after a brief hospitalization. Van decided to be born on the night of “the big snow” on march 5, 1927 in Davidson, NC; preventing a trip to Charlotte for his birth. The events surrounding his birth became a legend around the village of Davidson and were referenced for years. He was the son of the late Clyde V. and Noma Keever Boliek Dickert.

Van graduated for Davidson High School, served in the US Navy, graduated from Davidson College and the Wharton School of Business. After a career with an international company he went into business for himself; only ending his business career in September, 2013 with the sale of his business.

Survivors include his wife Murlene Loftin Boliek, 1300 Reece Rd Apt 501, Charlotte, NC 28209; Loftin in laws, nieces, nephews and many friends. To celebrate the life of Van Boliek there will be a gathering in the Skyview Room at 1300 Reece Rd., Charlotte NC 28209, on Saturday January 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM. A luncheon and memory sharing will follow.
