Charles Moody Robinson, ’56, age 79, of Flowery Branch Georgia, passed away at Northeast Medical Center on Sept. 28, 2013 after a brief illness.
Born in Charlotte, NC, Robinson attended Davidson College where he earned his BA in French and Psychology. He did graduate work at Vanderbilt University and earned his Ph.D. at Northwestern University in Chicago. A clinical psychologist, he began his counseling career as director of a mental health clinic in Greenwood, SC. Following this, he was a psychologist with VA Hospitals in both Atlanta and Savannah, GA for many years. After retirement, the Robinsons made their home in Flowery Branch near family and friends.
Robinson was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Alice Pittman Robinson, his parents John and Bessie Robinson of Greenville SC, brother, John Robinson and wife Norma, and brother Dr. Leslie Robinson. Robinson is survived by a son, David Bevel of Atlanta, grandchildren Charles Eric Bevel and wife Jean, Ryan Bevel, Aimee Bevel Riddle, two great-grandchildren Austin Tobias Riddle and Evan Alexander Riddle, sister-in-law Callie Robinson, many nieces and nephews, a great many dear neighbors and church friends as well as longtime family friend Wilma Haney.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 on Oct. 5, 2013 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 2023 Memorial Park Drive, Gainesville, GA 30504. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.
