George Butler Thomasson ’48, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away at the age of 89 on August 23, 2013, peacefully at his home. He was drafted into WWII while a student at Davidson and returned to the college to complete his degree after serving two years of active combat in Europe. After graduating from Davidson he went on to complete a Juris Doctorate degree at Duke University and practiced law in Kings Mountain for 52 years before retirement. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marion Arthur Thomasson, 405 Phifer Rd., Kings Mountain, NC 28086; his daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Paul Parker of Marietta, GA, granddaughter Elizabeth Parker of Doylestown, PA, and grandson George Parker of Columbia, SC, and the home.
