Ralph R. Triplette, Jr. ’59

Ralph R. Triplette, Jr. ’59, 75, of Sylva, N.C., passed away Dec. 10, 2012. He was born in Elkin, N.C., on Oct. 28, 1937, to the late Ralph and Constence Wright Triplette, Sr. He received a college degree from Davidson, the University of Kentucky, and University of North Carolina. He was employed as a city planner in Hartford, Conn., from 1962-66 and in Chapel Hill from 1966-67. He became a professor of geography and planning at Western Carolina University from 1970 until retirement in 2003. He is survived by his wife and love of 41 years, Mary S. Triplette, PO Box 24, Cullowhee, NC 28723; one sister, Constance T. Barker; and one brother, Walter Triplette.
