James “Jace” Perrin Collins ’74

James “Jace” P. Collins passed away on Sunday May 27, 2012 of a heart attack. In true “Jace” fashion he made his exit dramatically in a theater. A brilliant artist whose work, words and actions touched many lives and hearts, his work may still be viewed at the Coquina Arts website. A true original, he will be missed by many.

  1. Jim was an original from the day he arrived at Davidson. I was lucky to have been a hall mate on 3d Watts freshman year. His room was part gypsy chic and menagerie. Parachute draped from the ceiling and his pet chameleon made it the most unique room on campus. Miss him. Eric
