Robert E. Austin, Jr. ’59

Robert E. Austin, Jr. ’59, passed away on Sept. 23. Austin was born on Oct. 10, 1937, in Jacksonville, Fla. While at Davidson, he majored in economics and was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity. After graduation, he entered the U.S. Army and was promoted to the rank of captain. In 1965 Austin graduated from the University of Florida law school. He was a practicing attorney in Florida from 1966 to the time of his death, mainly specializing in federal law. He is survived by his son, Robert E. Austin III ’90, his daughter-in-law, Sabrina Khan Austin ’92, and his granddaughters, Nina and Coco Isabella Austin.
