Walter Floyd Furr ’51, 83, of Asheville, N.C., died of cancer on May 5. Furr was born in Concord, N.C., the son of Albert Floyd and Ola D. Furr. He was a graduate of Davidson and served in the Army during WWII. He was a member of Haymount United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, where he was in business before retiring to Asheville to spend more time with his family. Furr is survived by his wife, Linda Godwin Furr, 30 Ridgefield Pl., Asheville, NC 28803; a daughter, Lynn Kieffer (Bob); and grandson, Wilson Kieffer.
