Ray W. Reinhardt ’50

Ray W. Reinhardt ’50, 80, died April 6, 2006, Lynchburg, Va., after a long struggle with cancer. He was born and raised in Lincolnton, N.C. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy in WWII, having served on a destroyer escort, the U.S.S. Lovelace. On his return from the Navy, he attended Darlington School in Rome, Ga., and Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C. Reinhardt and his wife, Leta, 3419 Summerville St., Lynchburg, VA 24503-1344, lived in Lynchburg since 1962. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in December 2005, surrounded by friends and family. Reinhardt is also survived by his son, Steve Reinhardt; a daughter, Meggins Tuchmann (Tom); two granddaughters, Helen and Emmy Tuchmann; and four nieces, Yvonne Beaver, Le Neisler, Laura Houston, and Margaret Reinhardt. He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Reinhardt 1913, and a sister, Yvonne Javert Shelton. His older brother, Robert S. Reinhardt ’41, passed away Feb. 20, 2011.
