Robert Lee Miller, Sr. ’40

Robert Lee Miller, Sr. ’40 of Panama City, Fla., died July 16, 2005. He was a retired lieutenant colonel, having served in the U.S. Air Force (Reserve) in the Pacific during World War II. He also was retired from civil service. He had been a resident of Bay County since 1965, moving from Winston-Salem, N.C. He was a member of the Panama City Rotary Club and a member of First United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Dalton Miller, 330 Bunkers Cove Rd., Panama City, Fla. 32401; son Robert Lee Miller Jr. and wife Twyla, of Belfast, Northern Ireland; daughter Katherine Johnston and husband Mark, of Opelika, Ala.; four grandchildren, Samuel Davis Miller and wife Heather, Luke Jackson Miller, Christian Wade Johnston, and Katherine Lee Johnston; brother-in-law, Samuel S. Dalton of Winston-Salem; and two sisters-in-law, Gladys Dalton of Winston-Salem and Jeanne Dalton of Atlanta, Ga.
