Joseph Webb Farrar ’61

Dr. Joseph Webb Farrar ’61 of Morganton, N.C., passed away June 17, 2005, after a brief illness. He graduated from UNC School of Dentistry, where he finished at the top of his class. After graduation in 1965, he entered the U.S. Army as a captain, and was head of the Rivers Barracks Dental Clinic in Giessen, Germany, for the duration of his two-year tour of duty. He began practicing dentistry in Morganton, where he practiced until May 1 of this year. He was a member of Burkemont Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of forty years, Catherine Powell Farrar, 301 Riverside Dr., Morganton, N.C. 28655; sons, Joseph Webb Farrar II of Woodbridge, Va., Joseph Jeffrey Farrar of Rutherford College, N.C., and Joseph Benjamin Farrar of Louisville, Ky.; grandson Reed Jeffrey Farrar of Rutherford College, N.C.; and sister, Linda Farrar of Greenville, S.C..
