Rudolph Evander Conoley ’33

Rudolph Evander Conoley ’33 of Miami, Fla., died February 26, 2005. He was a retired lieutenant colonel with the U.S. Army and Army Reserve and a retired Dade County schoolteacher and administrator. Following graduation from Davidson, he obtained his master’s degree from Duke University in 1940. He began his career as a principal in the Everglades Public School System and returned to Miami to become a teacher at Bryan Junior High. He later became the dean of boys at Miami Edison Senior High. He finished his career as coordinator of personnel for the Miami Dade Public School System. His wife of fifty-six years, Laurita Pearson, preceded him in death in 1996. He is survived by son, R. Van Conoley, Jr., 25 Rosedown Blvd., Debary, Fla. 32713; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Conoley; and granddaughter, Mary Beth.
