Marcia May Grove ’81

Marcia M. Grove Vashon Island, Wash., 34. died Sunday, Sept. 5.1993, following an accident. Born May 25. 1959, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of G. Frederick Grove of Oakmont and Gladys Burton of Fox Chapel. She lived in Vashon Island for three years and was a geneticist for Diagnostic Cytogenics Inc., Seattle.

She previously served with the Peace Corps in Africa for six years, teaching science in Gambia, Malawi and Ghana. She was an avid naturalist and environmentalist In addition to her parents, she is survived by a stepmother, Lynn Grove; one sister, Georgia Lee Grove of Atlanta, one brother, Frederick Grove of Columbia. S.C., and one grandparent. Thelma Burton of Reedsville.

Henry Ware Hobbs Jr. '45

Henry Ware Hobbs, Jr. was a lifelong resident of Brookhaven, MS, a prominent attorney (Ole Miss Class of 1947), a noted civic leader, and local historian. He was active in Brookhaven Little Theatre (BLT), and was the 1992 recipient of BLT’s John Landress Award in recognition of his many contributions to BLT.
